Committed to Justice. Called to Serve.
At Boise First United Church of Christ, we are deeply committed to being stewards of justice and witness in our community. Our faith calls us to love our neighbors, stand in solidarity with the marginalized, and work toward a more just and compassionate world.
Our Partnerships
-
Furnishing Hope
We partner with Furnishing Hope, a local organization dedicated to helping individuals and families transition out of homelessness or refugees newly migrated by providing essential home furnishings. Through this partnership, we support their mission of turning empty spaces into warm, welcoming homes.
Furnishing Hope works with community volunteers to collect, store, and deliver furniture and household essentials to those in need, ensuring they have a comfortable and dignified place to live. Together, we help provide stability, hope, and a fresh start for our neighbors as they rebuild their lives.

Interfaith Sanctuary offers safe overnight shelter, case management, job assistance, and mental health services to help guests transition toward stability and independence. Their compassionate, low-barrier approach ensures that everyone—regardless of background, circumstance, or need—has access to dignity and care.

12 Step Groups
We partner with local 12-step groups that meet in our building nearly every day. We believe in providing a welcoming and supportive space for individuals on their journey of recovery. These groups offer a vital source of healing, encouragement, and community for those seeking wholeness and renewal.

Leap Housing
We believe that safe, stable, and affordable housing is a fundamental right. That’s why we proudly partner with LEAP Housing, a local nonprofit dedicated to creating housing solutions for individuals and families in need.
Through this partnership, we support LEAP Housing’s efforts to provide affordable homeownership opportunities, transitional housing, and innovative housing solutions for those experiencing or at risk of homelessness. Together, we are working toward a more just and equitable Boise, where everyone has a place to call home.

Reparations Fund at BSU
We believe that justice requires action. That’s why, on January 27, 2019, our congregation voted to establish the Reparations Fund—a dedicated effort to support local people of color in their pursuit of higher education.
Grounded in the understanding that reparations are an essential step toward justice, healing, and reconciliation, this fund helps cover tuition, books, and other education expenses.
By donating to the Reparations Fund, you are empowering the futures of an INC and or Native students at BSU who have been historically denied access to educational opportunities.
Join us in this important work and donate to the Reparations Fund. Add in the notes section on Paypal that you’d like your gift to be given towards the reporations funds.

The Sharing Shelf: Give What You Can, Take What You Need
Stocked with non-perishable food, hygiene products, and other essential items, the Sharing Shelf operates on a simple principle: Give what you can, take what you need. No questions asked, no judgment—just neighbors helping neighbors.
If you’d like to contribute, donations are always welcome! If you could use a little extra support, please help yourself. Together, we can ensure that everyone in our community has access to the essentials they need.
